My boxes are constructed of domestic and exotic veneers and hardwoods. Some incorporate silk and satin brocade as well as gold leaf and occasionally birch bark and
found twigs.

The designs are inspired by the graphic balance of Japanese arts and the geometric simplicity of modern architecture. Often this geometry is most highlighted by the contrast of natural organic elements.

The mirrors shown here are derived from 18th century Japanese gold leaf screens. The compostions are individually hand painted scenes from nature using  flora and fauna native to New England on a background of either 14k gold leaf or the more economical imitation gold leaf.
